Cam Lo, Quang Tri (20 May 2021) — On their way to a task site today, four NPA/Project RENEW technical survey teams stopped to provide emergency assistance to local people who were injured in a traffic accident.

Earlier, a mother and her son had been seriously injured after their motorbike crashed into the rear of a truck on the road in Mỹ Hòa Village, Thanh An Commune, Cam Lo District in Quang Tri Province. The son was riding his mother after being hired to harvest rice. Falling asleep due to a lack of sleep as a result of probably working overnight, he fell asleep and drove his motorbike into a truck parking on the roadside. The crash caused multiple injuries to him and his mother who suffered serious injuries to her head.

The teams’ medics administered first aid to the mother and her son while other members helped stabilise them, before an ambulance transported them to the hospital.

We’re very proud that our teams have the compassion to go above and beyond their daily work and use their medical training to help people in need – well done!
