In our effort to ensure that the Law on Persons with Disabilities is fully implemented, raising the knowledge of disabled persons and making them aware of their rights, obligations, and associated policies, Project RENEW’s Victim Assistance/Disability Support has organized public information sessions under the funding of Irish Aid to spread the contents of the Law to grassroots persons with disabilities. From 2017 to 2019, 2.878 persons with disabilities and public cadres had participated in 81 sessions as such, including 1,282 women with disabilities.
Through these information sessions, grassroots persons with disabilities have better comprehended the government’s disability policies. At the same time, their queries about the rights and obligations of persons with disabilities have been responded to. These information sessions also provided persons with disabilities an opportunity to take part in social activities, helping improve their spiritual lives.
Project RENEW was established in 2001 as a joint effort between the government of Quang Tri Province and interested INGOs to “restore the environment and neutralize the effects of the war”.
