Dear Friends of RENEW,
As we come to the end of another year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and commitment to our mission. Together, we have made remarkable strides in our efforts to heal the scars of war and build a better future for Viet Nam.
This year, we took a groundbreaking step forward: the completion of cluster munitions remnants survey in all accessible villages of Quang Tri Province thanks to the leading role of our international partner Norwegian People’s Aid. As a result, a province-wide map of contaminated areas provided the provincial government and mine action operators a foundation for efficient planning of clearance resources. Our women deminers – mothers, daughters, sisters – working together with their men colleagues to meticulously clear the land of unexploded ordnance, have been a constant source of inspiration.
Your generosity didn’t stop there. RENEW continued vital victim assistance programs, providing vocational training, psycho-social support, livelihood assistance, and rehabilitation to hundreds of individuals who continue to bear the scars of war consequences in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Ngai provinces. We witnessed countless stories of resilience and recovery, individuals rebuilding their lives with the strength you helped provide.
And there are the children. Through interactive explosive ordnance risk education sessions, we’ve reached thousands of students in two provinces of Quang Tri and Quang Ngai, equipping them with the knowledge and behavior guidance to stay safe in their communities while the clearance of unexploded ordnance continues.
As we celebrate these achievements, we look forward to the new year with renewed purpose and commitment to our mission. We will continue to deploy our clearance teams to reach more communities and accelerate our path to an impact-free Viet Nam. We will also expand our victim assistance programs and focus on educating the next generation.
None of this would be possible without your incredible support. Your contributions, no matter how big or small, have made a significant impact on our work. We are grateful for your partnership in renewing lives, renewing communities, and renewing hope.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We wish you a happy new year filled with renewed gratitude and unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for Viet Nam.
Warmly,
The Project RENEW Team
