Through the grant funding for RENEW to purchase state-of-the-art mushroom production equipment, Japan has become a strong supporter of the Mushrooms with a Mission program, along with the U.S. Department of State, Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Australian veteran organization MiVAC.

DoS started providing joint funding with Norway’s TMC to launch Project RENEW’s mobile outreach prosthetics and orthotics unit during 2007-2008. This mobile service provides artificial limbs, other prosthetic and orthotic devices, and rehabilitation services to ERW survivors and people with disabilities in rural and mountainous areas.

From 2009, DoS provided significant funds via RENEW’s partners including NPA, HDI and VAP to implement UXO clearance and MRE.

In early 2015, DoS provided a grant through NPA for expansion of UXO survey and clearance in the remaining districts of Quang Tri Province for three years.

Vietnam Assistance Project (VAP) is a U.S. based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that provides humanitarian assistance to the People of Vietnam. It works to eradicate poverty and other problems and to improve access to health care, education, and activities that support victims resulting from their social or economic situation. VPA is partnering with RENEW to implement Mine Risk Education.

The Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI) is a unique non-profit organization that serves people in the developing world through the implementation of large-scale humanitarian projects and through its work with the United Nations.

Since 2009 HDI has partnered with Project RENEW to launch a rural grassroots human security and livelihoods assistance program called “Mushrooms with a Mission” (MwM).

Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is one of the leading organizations worldwide in mine action and the removal of landmines, cluster munitions and other Explosive Remnants of War (ERW), currently operational in 19 countries around the world.

NPA has worked in Vietnam since 2008 following the signing of an MOU with the Quang Tri Peoples Committee in November 2007 to support Project RENEW with the development and implementation of one EOD team working in three districts. Since then, NPA’s operational footprint has expanded and now covers all of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue Provinces and NPA has become Project RENEW’s primary donor since January 1, 2012.
