TOMS has given over 35 million pairs of shoes to children in need in over 70 countries since 2006. In that year, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Through New York-based Humpty Dumpty Institute, Project RENEW became TOMS’s Giving Partner in Vietnam in 2013 and has distributed over 100,000 pairs of shoes coupled with unexploded ordnance safety messages to children in Quang Tri Province since then.
